This is one of my most FAVORITE things to do!

Do you guys wanna know my all time FAVORITE activity to do?

CAMPING!

And especially when it's right smack dab in the middle of the woods.

Man. The open air, smell of the campfire, beer in your hand, the silence and the sound of laughter filling the woods. I'm getting all giddy just thinking about it.

That was our favorite place to go camping. Right in the middle of the woods, along the Mohican River. It even had a rope swing hanging from a tree at the top of a cliff to swing and jump into the river. This place wasn't even in a campground. It was real, primitive camping.

When we went camping we always cooked every meal on the campfire, and it's the BEST food you'll ever have. Especially the cake on the campfire, it was my mom's specialty. My oh my this thing is DELICIOUS! You can ask anyone. Now usually when we went camping, our mom ALWAYS did the cooking. Except one time, the time in the photo below, it was our one and only girls camping trip. My sister in law and I decided to let Mom sit back and let us do the cooking.

Growing up, we went camping every year. My Nana and Grandpa owned a little plot at a campground. Every year the kids each took turns spending 2 weeks at the campground with them. I remember when it was my turn to stay with Nana and Grandpa, I was super excited, I was pretty close with my Nana so I was pumped. Until the day came, I missed my mom so incredibly much, I cried the whole way out there and cried that whole evening. I was such a Mama's girl. But the next day I was up and having fun with Nana.

Camping is in my veins and I want my kids to experience camping every year too. Especially in these days, when electronics rule the world. It's nice to get away, unplug and just be with your family. I've kinda missed out on going camping the past 2 years or so, my mom passed away in 2013 and it just hasn't been the same. But I'm changing that this year, we're going camping!
